It’s time to revive this blog! Recently I’ve been seeing dozens of friends fleeing their social media sites they previously liked. I myself have become convinced that Facebook Reels is a plot to rot my brain. I don’t know if I’m going to quit social media, but I’ve been wishing the Internet could go back to the way it was twenty years ago — you start a blog and link to elements from other blogs, and you provide information that might be educational to others in your field. And your blog has an RSS feed, which others can use to keep up with you without the evil algorithm deciding what’s good for you.
And to provide a few brief updates on me: I have a day job now, which is good for money but makes writing a challenge. I am working on a science-fiction novel, and I have an idea for Book 4 of the Camp St. Innocent Series… but it’s slow going.
As I find educational and interesting things from other RSS feeds, I’m going to be sharing them here. Topics I like are creative writing, journalism, data and graphs, and humor. I’m going to try to stay away from politics, but know that I am liberal on economics and social programs, If you’re trying re-start Attila the Hun’s army, this probably isn’t the place for you.
Also, with this post, I’m going to include a picture of me and a baby larch, doo doo, doo doo da da doo doo taken in the Cascade Mountains.
If you have an RSS feed where you share stuff, I’d love to hear about it!
